Last.fm Loved Tracks RSS Feed

Update: October 2008
As of this month, last.fm have started providing an official RSS feed for loved tracks (Thanks Anil!). My homebrew feed, the original subject of this article, will be retired at some point in the near future in favour of the official feed.

My Original Homebrew Approach
Ever wondered why last.fm don’t provide an RSS feed of your loved tracks*? Me too. So using the freely available audioscrobbler web services i’ve created a very basic last.fm loved tracks feed which. The main reason for doing so was to update twitter with my loved tracks via twitterfeed. The feed can be called with the following syntax:
http://jamazon.co.uk/last.love/user/[last.fm username]/feeds/[feed type (rss|atom|opml)]
It’ll work with any valid last.fm username.
Here’s mine:
http://jamazon.co.uk/last.love/user/jamiethompson/feeds/rss
* last.fm now provide an official RSS feed of loved tracks. If you somehow missed the massive notice at the top of this page, scroll back up and read it.

This script is really good man.
But you could offer some assistance in “styling” it. I’d like my stream to be on a website with all other streams from sites. And i want the Last.fm one to appear like twitter. where i can style it etc..
How would i do this with last?

Have you noticed the (huge) differences between the 2 feeds?!
There seems to be no sync between the both of ‘em… I’ll stay with your feed for as long as it lasts, because it shows the most recent loved songs.

You know what, you’re right. I haven’t actually used either feed for quite some time and hadn’t noticed the discrepancy. My feed does appear to be more chronologically accurate than the offical feed, and I’m not entirely sure what the issue is there. My feed is based on an offical audioscrobbler xml feed, which begs the question, what is the audioscrobbler rss feed based on.
I may investigate

Is there a way to get “loved tracks” from all users, as rss feed? Further if I could filter by genre (jazz/pop/rock etc) it would be great.
